Coastal Cowboys was born out of a love for being loud and energetic. Lewis’ love for the electrifying mix of colours that permeated out of the country was so intense he wanted to turn his passion into a dream for blue-collar workers. For this reason, he had the idea of creating a workwear brand that would be heavily influenced by the country’s resilience one which, he believed, would become an essential item to blue-collar workers across Australia.

Having worked in the blue-collar sector in the Northern Territory for several years, Lewis found himself bored with the generic clothing which everyone wore each day. The lack of colour, inspiration and fun found in everyday shirts left him feeling lacklustre and dull. He longed for a workwear brand that would inject a bit of vibrant soul into his day and keep his holiday mindset alive.

Recognising this hole in the market, he began developing a collection that would fill the gap. A collection that would give blue-collared workers a boost in their step and add a little colour to even the dullest of days. Of course, to survive the gruel of a full day’s work, his collection needed to be exactly like a cowboy; durable, robust, suitable for any line of work, flexible and perhaps something you could wear out for a social, after work.
